The old Upper Brush Creek Schoolhouse is located at the intersection of Yeoman Park, and Sylvan Lake Road, at the Meadows Day Use Area.  The Sylvan Lake State Park, in partnership with the Eagle County Historical Society has installed a series of history plaques similar to those found around Eagle. The six different signs located at 10 sites are titled "Honoring Historic Brush Creek."  They include information about the Upper Brush Creek School, the Upper Dice Ranch and the history of the lake and the area around it.

With vast regions of the world snowbound for much of the year, hunters looked to emulate successful winter travelers like the snowshoe hare, whose oversized feet enabled them to move quickly over deep snow. In areas like central Europe, historians have discovered snowshoe-like tools, with the use of large leather flats and round wooden blocks, but the traditional webbed snowshoe design was developed and thrived with Native Americans.

Much of the 1970's  in Glenwood was dominated by the idea of connecting Interstate 70 from Gypsum to Glenwood through Glenwood Canyon. At the time, there were fierce public campaigns for and against the massive project, which would end up spanning three decades.
